Hi, my name is Ezequiel. I’ve been using asterisk for some time now, and I always had a problem with sip show channelstats. (I’ve used versions from 1.8 to 11.10.0 now…)
When using plain asterisk on Centos, everything shows 0 (sent, received, packets lost…), but if I use asteriskNOW it works fine, so I guess I’m missing something in my server configuration.
My config is pretty simple, just a few extensions and the dialplan to talk among them, no analog lines or anything.
The closest case I’ve seen is this post http://forums.asterisk.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=86352&p=185966&hilit=channelstats#p185966, but I don’t have any warnings like him. I also tried rtcp set stats on but with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated, and if you need I can post the config files.
Thanks.
“sip show channelstats” is working fine on every Asterisk 1.8 and 11 that I ever tried. And I didn’t have to make any settings for it. But you have to realize, that this command is only showing currently active channels.
If you want to see how many calls were handled by the Asterisk server until the latest boot/reboot, try running “core show channels”.
Same here, I made a pretty big jump from 1.6 to 11.0 then 11.11 and ‘sip show channelstats’ yields nothing meaningful (zeros or maybe 1 in packets or packets lost).
This is critical tool for diagnosing quality issues so p l e a s e any suggestions will be appreciated. Please note when I use command I have made sure 4 or 5 active calls in progress…

Yes, I’m trying with active calls, Like ljones said, it’s critical for diagnosing quality issues, and just like him, I only get zeros or maybe 1 in packets lost, but nothing else.
It worked without any special config in your case? It only worked for me in asterisknow, but I could never make it work on plain asterisk (from 1.8 to 11.11)
Still looking for some guidance on patch/work-around for ‘sip show channelstats’ on my version 11…
Ezequiel, have you found any further information?
Thanks anyone that might have answer!
