Please help/need advise

I am pulling my hair out on this one! I installed asterisknow modules on mandriva 2008. I’m able to access CLI just fine. I’ve configured http.conf and I can access the configuration page just fine by going to:

my ip:8088/asterisk/static/config/cfgbasic.html

However, even after configuring manager.conf with a login and password, saving the config, and stopping/restarting asterisk I still get an invalid username/password from the above config address. Below you will find my manager.conf config. for security I’ve removed the ip info and permited ip info.

Any ideas?

; AMI - The Asterisk Manager Interface

; Third party application call management support and PBX event supervision
;
; This configuration file is read every time someone logs in
;
; Use the “manager list commands” at the CLI to list available manager commands
; and their authorization levels.
;
; "manager show command " will show a help text.
