Phones inventory

Hi colleagues;

who knows about phones inventory on Asterisk?

I used a Bash script on Centos, I got the user name, extension, and type of phone. But I need to get the MAC Address, a Panasonic Phone show this row, but a Grand Stream, Yealink and Cisco don’t show this row. See picture. Thank you!

That would be up to your phone vendor to implement.

Not all phone vendors include the MAC address as part of the user agent.

Or, it might be something that’s off by default. With us, for example, it is off by default:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<config>
    <setting id="send_mac_with_useragent" value="0" />
</config>

and has to be turned on:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<config>
    <setting id="send_mac_with_useragent" value="1" />
</config>

Thanks John! I will try to contact the provider support. If anyone has other way to do it, thanks!

Thanks Malcom for answer.

I only configure with XML files the Cisco phones, other brands are configured through web interface.

Can I configure all phones through XML Files?

Yealink phones can be configured via their own template language, It’s really friendly to work with.

You can set the field account.X.custom_ua to be the MAC address of the phone and it’ll then show up after the version number.

There is no standard. Each manufacturer can do what they want and allow their phones to be configured in whichever manner they decide.

Thanks guys. I will continue research about it.
