Outgoing call

Hello,

I'm very new to asterisk. I have a question about outgoing calls. Do I need a service provider to make a call? (I only want to make calls not receive)

You need a connection to a sip/iax2/h323 service provider or a connection to the pstn through specific hardware to call out.
