No fax detected

Hello,
I’m using Trixbox 1.2.3 with Free PBX. I have an HP laser jet 3055 all-in-one connected to Trixbox by TDM400P and one FXS card. The FAX machine detects a ring and starts to respond by showing the message “incoming call” but then showing “no fax detected”. The FAX machine send fax correctly. Any ideas?

more detail needed… what provider / how is your setup done?. if you are faxing via voip, are you using ulaw/alaw codec? remember fax wont work over any other codecs…

My FAX schema is:

  • PSTN line conncted to the FXO card on TDM400P
  • FAX machine connected to the FXS card on TDM400P (I have created ZAP extension for my fax machine)
  • Inbound routes (Fax Handling):
    Fax extension: "My ZAP extension"
    Fax Detection Type: NVFAX
    Pause after answer: 5 sec

When Trixbox receive a fax on PSTN line, it recognized fax and forward it to the ZAP extension as in default [ext-fax] but then FAX machine detects a ring and starts to respond by showing the message “incoming call” etc. until “no fax detected”.

try hooking an analog phone up to the same line, pick it up as soon as the laserjet answers. Do you hear the two fax machines trying to negotiate?
