No CallerID with DAHDI and Asterisk 1.6

Our old system with Asterisk 1.2 and Zaptel correctly showed PSTN caller IDs.

when we switched to the Asterisk 1.6 with DAHDI 2.0, no caller id is available for incoming calls. The SIP phones are showing “from: asterisk” instead of the CallerID.

Can anyone help and explain how to troubleshoot this issue?

My first thought is that the variable you’re using for callerid has changed with asterisk 1.6. Other thoughts relate to the chan_dahdi.conf. Some relevant settings might be:

hidecallerid=no
usecallerid=yes
callerid=asreceived
sendcalleridafter=2

From what I recall, I had to play with the sendcalleridafter=2 value at one time.
