Need a fix for Behind NAT/Firewall SIP devices

Hi

Is there any solution or fix to overcome Behind NAT/Firewall devices, as those sip devices become “UNREACHABLE” in 2 to 3 minutes after successful registration.

Also some of the ISP’s are blocking the standard 5060 port. So our customers are not able to register from their end. Is there a way to overcome this on Asterisk.

VPN tunnel or try another port, But many ISPs are blocking on content not port.

I’ve made the qualify value as 60000, to check if the device answers within 1 minute.

But still, the devices which are specifically behind firewall (VoIP Un-aware firewall), doesn’t consider the qualify values.

What should I do in this situation ?

Not to hijack your thread, but what is the reason an ISP would block SIP traffic? I would be absolutely furious if I paid my money for internet access and couldn’t have an IP phone…

I dont know why they do that…
But to help get customers out of it.

I’ll have a try on VPN Tunnel by tomorrow.
But, in what way does the content is being known by the ISP?

Certain countries do this on a national level. and some ISPs who offer their own bundled service also block.
