Manager.conf is not supporting the FQDN in the permit field

Hello Everyone,
I have a request where in the manager.conf permit field only supports static IP and not the FQDN.
is there any possiblity can we do the permit=sip.domain.com instead of x.x.x.x/x.x.x.x?

because the asterisk documentation or sample file of manager.conf didn’t mentioned directly that it only supports static IP.
little bit of knowledge would resolve my issue

It does not support hostnames. The code would have to be altered and changed.
