Limit of simultaneous calls

Is there a limit of simultaneous calls with Asterisk.
I come to 83. Then comes in the CLI.

the softphone shows the message
SIP core error: Could not add audio object to audio mixer: Too many objects of specified type (PJ_ETOOMANY)

There is a configurable limit on the number of open file descriptors, in Linux.

Configuration file asterisk.conf Parameter maxfiles. However, 83 and that warning sound more like a software bug. Can you try without creating RTCP, first?
