Is it possible to create something like that:
An address book, let’s say:
Mary - 11444333
Mark - 11556677
etc.
User starts typing a first 2 or 3 letters of the name on the phone keyboard, presses # and system presents him available numbers.
Has anyone done this kind of address book menu ?
I would very much appreciate any examples or scripts.

Yes, that’s not what I need. Directory command is for local extensions and I want to be able to store some international numbers in text file or database or another place (doesn’t matter) and make Asterisk assist the user in dialing the correct number.
Is something like that possible ?
