hello all ,
I’m trying to install Asterisk on Alma Linux but I’m getting some dependencies. Can you help me?
There is an install_prereq script in the contrib/scripts directory which can be used to install dependencies.
Otherwise, you’re going to need to be more specific.

Can you help us? Tell us specifically what the problems are. Show us the
error messages. Let us know what versions of Alma, and Asterisk, you’re
working with. Tell us what commands you’re running which generate the errors.

Yes we have solutions , please explain your issues @RDouro
I’m personally not going to touch issues with Asterisk 13. I’m not even sure if it would build.

a) excuse my ignorance regarding your hardware, but why does this mean you
cannot use a current, supported version of Asterisk?
b) does this mean you do already have a working system? If so, how did you
install that and what are you now trying to change?

Because that’s the issue, sangoma stopped making patches for new versions of asterisk.
completely abandoned the project.
Yes Can we connect? @RDouro
how ?
We can support you better if we connect directly — is there a way we can talk further? @RDouro
They’re trying for a commercial service sale, even though you didn’t post in the Jobs category. Really they should have PMed you, if they were going to do that.
There are very few regular responders here, and it is very unlikely that any of them has specific experience of Alma Linux, and how it differs from Debian (or CentOS). Whilst most people who respond aren’t out for direct commercial gain from the response, in practice they are only likely to address the problem from general principles, not from an Alma Linux point of view.
Most people who respond here are also running latest versions, so Asterisk 13 will be past history to them.
Also logs should be provided as text (but not re-keyed text), not as screenshots, or photographs.
It looks like you are failing to install devel packages. That might mean there is a separate repository for them, which you haven’t configured, or it might mean that they don’t have the names being used here.
There does seem to be a separate repository for -devel package, ee AlmaLinux Repositories | AlmaLinux Wiki However, it looks to me as though at least some are not present in any Alma LInux respository, or at least not with a vaguely similar name.
At least one of them, is in a third party repository, for Red Hat, see http://dag.wiee.rs/rpm/FAQ.php
Hey RDouro, Pooh and David have hit some key points, I have installed Asterisk on many Alma linux / Rocky & RHEL OSs
Why not use Asterisk 16 or higher I am currently using Ast 18 on many Alma OS with that said, I have a fondness for Ast 16.
If you want I can guide you to a clean install of your asterisk
I have nothing to do with this site and haven’t used it recently (my Asterisk systems are on Debian now), but i have used the RPMs privided there to install Asterisk on Alma Linux 8/9 in the past.
I have never installed Aaterisk 13 from them though. SRPMs are also listed so you can build your own packages if you like. You’re probably not going to find what you’re looking for pre-built for Alma Linux, but you can possibly get some dependecies you need there as RPMs or SRPMs.
Regards,
Ron
I realize this is an older topic.. but to build astersk in general on Rocky or almalinux you almost always have to enable the ‘CRB’ (CodeReady Builder) Repo along with epel-release repo to get the necessary development packages .. I hasve no idea if asterisk 13 will build or not.. I havent built a 13 load in probably a decade.. it was probably on Centos 6 back then. I have found to build for older installs that use chan_sip, you will want to run your build configure command with jannson bundled and without-pjproject to have a shot at it.. I have built asterisk 16 on Centos 8, so it should build on alma 8 i would think… havent tried on 9. , I dont know anything about the specific SangNoma hardware you are trying to run.. GSM gateway for just SIP voice? I do SIP voice over cellular every day on the likes of Peplink, Mikrotik, Cradlepoint…
