IAX2 and virtual IP address

Hi all,

I have an intriguing one: I have an Asterisk cluster with two nodes. The master node runs asterisk on a virtual IP address (eth0.0). The cluster is behind a NAT-ing firewall. When I try to reach it from the outside through IAX2, this only seems to work when I connect to the real IP address, and not to the virtual one. Even when I set “bindaddr” to the virtual IP address in iax.conf, it doesn’t work.

The funny thing is that, while enabling debugging for IAX2, I do see activity when I forward packets to the virtual IP address.

Is there any way to get this working, so outside users can profit from the high(er) availability of the cluster?

Thank you,

Bart
