Dos Asterisk use multithreading so pentium processors with hyperthreading are useful?
I have read that some have had problems with it and others say it works fine with it. Im not for sure if asterisk actually supports it because it really thinks its 2 cpus
We are using P4 HT processors with SMP linux and Hyperthreading on in 12 of our production Asterisk servers. For our uses it does improve performance and we have had no problems with compatibility.
Asterisk on a Xeon box out here, HT in use, no problems at all. FreeBSD.
I tried installing Asterisk @Home on HT P4 and got some compatibility problem. The asterisk is not functioning well until i disabled HT in Bios. Issit something related to SMP or 64bit??
