I am using an asterisk server on a centos PC having the configuration as below…
2 GB RAM
Core 2 Duo CPU 2.4 GHz
250 GB Hard Drive.
E1 Card for Outbound Calls
So I have a connection for outbound calls even. How many SIP Phones i can connect to this server and How would be the performance according to the number of phones used simultaneously. Taking into consideration of congestion and network traffic, what would be the limitation????Hi
This is a “how long is a piece of string” question. and if you searched this forum you will find it asked over and over again.
What is a better way of putting it, is " I need to support X phones will this server support that number"

Even then it depends on the nature of the traffic and the extent to which it is possible to re-invite the RTP stream out of Asterisk, which also depends on how you use the system as well as the topology.
