HDLC error on D-channel! Please help!

Hi all expert,

I have a Asterisk system with single span E1 card connect to Australia Telstra ISDN 10 network. However the circuit is keep restarting. So both the ongoing calls were drop all of a sudden. According to Telstra, they see a lot slips error on the circuit hence the circuit keep restarting. They suspect the clock source is not correct, however, we already set the clock source is on network side.

I have tried, replace the E1 card, swap to another PCI slot, load balancing the 4 CPU, change various config in system.conf, chan_dahdi.conf, dahdi-channels.conf, but all results are the same. I was try to disble some unused device such as USB in the Bios, but do not have that option.

We we plug in the RJ45 E1 cable to a Telstra ISDN phone, then the circuit do not restart at all and keep staying on the call for 5 mins more.

Asterisk version 1.4.30

Server: HP DL360

I have the exact same system in Hong Kong but they are working fine. Below is the error message capture and also the config files.

Please help, as really have no idea what the next step I should do now.

Best regards,
Haywood

you do not mention your libpri version but i suffered from some of these and found i was able to cure it by upgrading the version of libpri from 1.4.10 to 1.4.10.2

Hi

My dahdi and libpri version as below, but I update it before but it is still not working

asterisk-1.4.30
dahdi-linux-complete-2.2.1.1+2.2.1.1
libpri-1.4.10.2.tar.gz

dahdi is the system driver for Your TE110P
I think, You should configre all channels
/etc/dahdi/system.conf
span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4
bchan=1-15,17-31
dchan=16
loadzone = au
defaultzone = au

Your ISDN10 should be configured in zapata.conf as You presented.
Give it a try.

Thanks, actually I tried that already but its not working. I nearly try all the combination in system.conf, it either same result or the circuit could not sync up.

Can You provide full dahdi-channels.conf ? The prevoius one looks incomplete.
Do You have situation:
CLI>pri show span 1
provisioned up active
?
Did You check transmission flow with pri intense debug span 1 ?

Hello,
I am also having the same issue using Digium Te122 single SPAN E1 card.
when I tried PRI SHOW SPANS
it shows as UP but it frequently dropping and make the life terrible
any solution or updates please share here :blush:

Hello,

My HDLC error issue fixed. Finally it was the HP server PCI-E slot issue. We call HP enginner onsite and found out there was bad contact for the PCI-E slot with the motherboard. HP replaced another motherboard and then the issue solved.

From my research in the forum, the HDLC error is always seems more related to the interrupt or the server hardware issue instead of the configuration change.

Hope this help. Thanks. :smiley:

Hi
thanks for the reply, Could you please suggest some good brand motherboards. I am currently using Dell Optilex 780 desktop PC as server.

hi:
yes, the hdlc error is most probably related with hardware or motherboards or IRQs.

I am currently in Digium support. They told me to upgrade the DAHDI and libpri to most recent version and also check pattern loopback on PRI card.
I will share my findings here
