g729 issue

Hello,

I have not found any advice within previous topics so I post new one.
For the beginning I have asterisk with cisco 7940 and Linksys PAP2T.
Calls goes around without any problems between phones and to/from provider.
All using alaw/ulaw/g729. System prompts plays too.
Problem starts with voicemail.

I cannot leave message or record any greeting when usiing codec g729. When doing the same with alaw/ulaw all works fine including greetings and leaving vm messages.

This is home system, with one active call at maximum.

PLease advice what left me to do.

example logs below:

Do you have G.729 licenses installed on your system? G.729 codec translation is subject to royalties due to the patents on G.729.

Cheers.

Well, I haven’t got, yet.
When i check show channel during outside call, I can see 2 legs. Does it mean I need 2 licenses or just 1 (like per call) ??

I’d say you had no licences. You only need licences if you need to convert G.729 to another format.
