please gudie me how can we enable voice packet compression in Asterisk with G729/G723 codecs baiscally i want to compress voice packets in to 8kbps how can i do this please guide me awaiting thanks.
Go to the Digium’s Store buy some G729 licenses and you will receive the instructions.
He will also need to use IAX trunking or some third party RTP consolidation software to get close to 8kbps as the overall data rate. The overhead, alone, on standard RTP is more than 8kbps.
