Echo cancellation

#1

Hello

Does Asterisk do some sort of echo cancellation on sip or iax trunks?

I’m using a Sip Provider to delver calls to my 1st ast machine. This one has an iax2 trunk to my 2nd ast machine. On this last machines the users are registered with an iax2 client.

With this config the quality is very poor. Echo everywhere. Anyone here who can help me?

thx

Ok, so no echo cancellation.

But what else could be my problem? I mean the quality is realy bad.
It cannot be the Internet connection. Server 1 is located directly at the backbone and server 2 is connected to server one via sdsl.

How are you communicating from the endpoints? Are you using ATAs at each end that may be causing problems? Also, are you using the general internet and possible getting packet loss/jitter?
