DAHDI Outgoing call runs blind

I’m using 1.4 SVN, DAHDI 2.1.0.4 and libpri-1.4.10.1. My cards are TDM400P and TDM410P. I can make and receive calls with no problem EXCEPT; when I make an outgoing call, Asterisk assumes that the connection is immediately made whether the other end picks up or not. This means that I think the call was good when in fact the other end may or may not have picked up the phone. Any suggestions?

Does your PSTN provider offer answer supervision? Have you configured your system to use the sort of answer supervision that they use?

We just have regular POTS lines. We are checking for supervision now. Once that’s in place, I’ll post back.

Ma Bell says they don’t offer supervision on plain POTS lines. Does this mean I have to live with no call control?
