I am working in broadband communication company and our company have its own Softswitch , i wana work on connecting asterisk with softswitch through SIP protocol without help of any hardware involved such as TDM card, So if any body have any idea regarding this let me know , i will be thankful…

It is not a problem at all. You can do this with asterisk. In general in order to have MOH and or confrencing you need a timing device. Asterisk will use a TDM card to do this. If you dont have one you can use ztdummy (voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+timer+ztdummy) to do the timing for you. Once you have asterisk set up you can create a SIP account in sip.conf for asterisk to communicate to your softswitch with. You connect your softswith to the same network asterisk (dosent have to be the same network, can be done over the internet) and walla… you are done.
Also I wanted to add that you should have a look at the book: Asterisk: The Future of Telephony. You can get it from h6315.com/ast_book/ . This book was written for version 1.2.X and there have been a lot of changes since the release of 1.4. use the book as a tool however poke around on the internet for the latest information. Also voip-info.org is a great resource.
