You need to have your users record their name when they login to their voicemail. Then the recording of their name will be played instead of it spelling out their name. There is also a setting in voicemail.conf that forces all users to record their name when they login to their voicemail.
Hi,
I try to set that option but it still won’t work.
I don’t know how record the name.
there is voicemail.conf
[general]
format=wav49|gsm|wav
skipms=3000
maxmessage=180
maxsilence=180
silencethreshold=128
maxlogins=3
emaildateformat=%A, %B %d, %Y at %r
mailcmd=/usr/sbin/sendmail -t
sendvoicemail=yes
usedirectory=yes

forcegreetings=yes

thank you!
ismir, is this still an open issue?
what angler meant that “users record their names” is: your users have to open their voicemail using the phone. one of the option is to record their name, greetings, etc… they have to speak through the phone.
I am having the same problem…the name has been recorded, plays back fine in voicemail, 2 wav files were created (greet.wav and greet.WAV) but in the directory the name is spelled out rather than the recording being played. Any ideas where to look?
Thanks,
Mike
