Hi
It’s my understanding that the sipura boxes allow me to attach normal phones to IP, but cannot be used to connect softphones to the PSTN. SO to get out via Asterisk I need a digium card in my Asterisk server.
Is this correct?

The Sipura SPA-1000/1001 and SPA-2000/2002 are only analog telephone adapters. They’ll let you put a plain ol’ telephone an in IP telephony network.
The SPA-3000, on the other hand, also has an FXO port which you can use for dialing out to the PSTN. A Digium card would be more flexible, but it is possible to use the SPA-3000 instead if all you need is the ability to dial out to or receive calls from the PSTN.
