ChanSpy Call Freezing

User calls into Asterisk System
User starts recording a message
During recording user gets another phone call and clicks over to that call
I call in and start ChanSpy on Users call
My line is now completely unresponsive until that user clicks back over and resumes their call with the Asterisk System
My line doesn’t even register a hangup
I can’t even kill the process IDs on either port
request hangup does not work

Any way to solve this? This is 100% reproducible.
My ChanSpy flags are: dqESx(#)
Asterisk 20.9.1

What is that call answered by? Which inbound / outbound channels are
involved?

Please define “clicks over”. Do you mean they are using a SIP phone which
places the first call on hold and then answers the second call, or that they
cause something to happen in the Asterisk dialplan?

I call in and start ChanSpy on Users call

Which call?

My line is now completely unresponsive

What do you mean by “my line” and “unresponsive”? What are you trying to do
which does not work (due to the “unresponsiveness”)?

until that user clicks back over and resumes their call with the Asterisk
System

This is very confusing.

My line doesn’t even register a hangup

Why should it?

Splendid. Please show us how - give us the dialplan and explain what we need
to do to get the same experience.

Antony.

Whilst I don’t understand the bit about killing the process, I think that this relates to the lack of media frames.

Is there an automated way in asterisk to detect if someone switched over to another call and no data is being received from that channel?

Most devices would set the stream to sendonly.
