Calls Not Ringing Phones

Running Elastix:
Package Name - Linux(i386)
Version - 2.6.18
Release - 402.el5

We have a double NAT (I think) because one of our buildings is behind another network.

Intermittently calls from one building to another are going to VM and never rings the phone.

I’m very new to Asterisk and Elastix, and want to find some log files, but don’t know how to go about that. We have a built in CLI tool in our web gui, but that doesn’t seem to be it.

How can I find log files on these calls and start troubleshooting?

To enable Asterisk full debugging:

vi /etc/asterisk/logger.conf

uncomment this line:
full => notice, warning, error, debug, verbose, dtmf, fax

And all Asterisk debugging information will be logged to /var/log/asterisk/full.

Thanks for the reply!

I’m sorry but you’re going to have to really break this down for me. The only command line I know of is in the web gui.

Is there a dummies guide to doing this?

This forum does not support any WebGUI. If you want support for a WebGUI you need to find the forum that supports that GUI.

It seems you are really new with this man :astonished:… That screen where you are located, is used to run asterisk’s commands… in order you read the asterisk logs you need to login through ssh and then run the steps above. But based on your experience I don’t think you will be able to diagnose the issues by reading the logs by yourself.

Behind a different network doesn’t mean anything. Find out first what your network topology is and then try to fix the problem. Try to fix a problem without knowing all the variables is not possible.
