from Italy to China I’ve done an outbound route 11|. to China trunk
from China to Italy I’ve done an outbound route 10|. to Italy trunk
the italian extensions can call the chinese extensions end vice-versa, the first typing 11XXXX and the second typing 10XXXX.
In Italy I have configured a sip trunk to a VoIP operator and so the Italian extensions can do geographical calling by typing for example 900390743XXXXXXX, in fact there is an outbound route 9|. to VoIP operator.
My questions is: “How can I let the chinese extensions to make geographical calling by VoIP operator passing through Italian trixbox?”
Thanks in advance for the answears!!
PS
I thought that typing 10900390743XXXX from a chinese extensions it whould work, but my italian trixbox logs this:
Oct 22 12:07:17 NOTICE[8548] chan_iax2.c: Rejected connect attempt from XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, request ‘900390743******@from-trunk’ does not exist
where XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the chinese trixbox ip address.
Trixbox use the gui FreePBX so I don’t touch the dial plan directly.
The problem was that in the italian trix I in the trunk to-china I sent the incoming call to from-trunk context in the user details, but, maybe, the from-trunk context can’t route the call originating from a trunk to another trunk for security reasons, so I’ve modified the
context=from-trunk
line to
context=from-internal
in the user details, then, the calls from the other box will be treated just like internal calls and will be routed just any ather local extension.
People get hooked on GUI's (such as trixbox) and then they have issues that they can not deal with. IMHO trixbox is a great learning tool but you need to learn the inner workings of asterisk !!!

For me trixbox is not only a learning tool but it’s above all a production tool; in fact by this system I’ve phone-linked the different seiges of a society, particularly it has the main seige in Italy, and two other locations: one in China and one in Brazil. In a few months, other locations will be founded, one in Sveden and another in India.
Without trixbox for me is impossible to configure and manage all the system.
Quelo:
You bring u a very valid point and if you need a quick set up it works. However I have seen that since most trixbox users do not know the workings of asterisk when there is an issue they are stuck. Even if you decide to stay with trixbox it is a good idea to learn how asterisk works and how trixbox works with asterisk.

I’m very much interested in learning the inner workings of asterisk and to learn also the trixbox working with asterisk, you can advise me a good and complete documentation for this purpose?
