using asterisk can you make an extension forward to an outside number.

for example my extension is 2, can i make this extension forward to my cell phone number when im not at home?

It really depends on how you connect to the PSTN. If you are using a SIP provider then it depends on if they will let you, Broadvoice will. If you have multiple or analog lines or a PRI then the answer is yes.

Can someone provide the relevant extensions.conf on how to do call transfer with broadvoice? I have been trying but unsuccessfully.

Using an analog line, how do you setup call forwarding from an extension to a real phone number?
