I need someone who has experience to help me understand how to get the program downloaded, and compiled. I’ve done all the stuff in books but can’t seem to ever get it installed so I can work with it.
So, specifically where are you stuck?
If you just want to try it out then why not download a complete distribution like Trixbox or AsteriskNOW?
I am stuck at where you “Make” - I purchased “Asterisk” from a book store and have been following the install instructions. I got all the dependant applications installed but I am not sure how to proceed because the information is ambiguous. I did download AsteriskNow and I am working with it but as yet I have not run it yet.
So, what are you typing, and what are you getting back from the command line?
