Asterisk with external VoIP-Gateway

Hi,

I would like to setup Asterisk to handel the whole internal telephone communications. The external phone-session should run tho a global Voip-Gateway. I mean if somebody calls a number like “1234” it calls tho the Asterisk - if somebody calls +49 121 2455121 Asterisk forwards it to a external Voip-Gateway.

Is that possible ?

i think you need to get your plans a bit more clear in your head before you charge into this. asterisk isn’t just a POTS PBX.

yes, an asterisk dialplan can do what you want, as long as the VoIP GW provider can be setup as a peer on your system. who is it you use ? have you googled for “+asterisk +your-voip-provider”.
