Asterisk ver 4 -missing app

To all:

I was configuring my Asterisk system so I could get my FIRST system up, and was looking at the book
when i found something in the book but not in the menuselect:

I was looking at “app_dictate” in the book but there was NO “app_dictate” in the menuselect application tab!!!

Pour quoi? (why not?)

The application is there, it is under the Extended section which is further down.
