While downloading asterisk . does it have to be in any specific location of installation. And how to i use yast with it. …I mean like in windows setup file is the re any specific file we have to call for installation thru yast…

If you are new to Linux and Asterisk, use CentOS, not SUSE, as that is the development platform, so you are least likely to have compatibility problems.
