I am havine some issues trying to get Asterisk, IAXmodem, and HylaFAX to work together. What I am trying to accomplish is to send faxes over VoIP. I have followed may guides with little success. The version of Asterisk I am running is (1.4) on CentOS 5. I’m not sure what is going wrong. The problem I keep running into is when it comes time to configure “faxsetup” it will not detect or use my iax modem configuration. Any ideas? Thanks

Keep in mind that faxing over non-QoS Internet bandwidth will be problematic even with a fully functioning configuration.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have followed that guide also. I have the issue that when I goto point Hylafax with “faxsetup” to the IAX modem, It can’t use it or dosn’t see it at all.
When I go to install/configure Hylafax, It simply installs and does nothing after. Then when I try to run the “faxsetup” command and get to this part …

As you can see whern I get to this step it finishes, it does not let me choose a modem at all.
Suggestions ?
