Asterisk "eats" memory

Hi there, I was checking my memory after asterisk was running 24 hours:

$ free total used free shared buffers Mem: 30196 29436 760 0 1964 Swap: 130748 11912 118836 Total: 160944 41348 119596

and this is just after reboot

Any idea why?

Is it possible to clear swap somehow?

AFAIC, asterisk doesn’t ever eat your memory. It merely consumes/uses the RAM and/or swapped file on its host. Also, free lacks it capability to tell you how much RAM is taken by any running processes, let alone by asterisk.
