Asterisk DCAP

hi

i decided to write DCAP certificate exam.
can anyone tell me the exam details
like how many questions
total time
syllabus
is the exam is easy or difficult
is it openbook test ?
cost?

dCAP is made out of two segments - a written exam (about 120 multiple choice questions) and a practical part (45 miniutes to compile and set up Asterisk). The exam is not too dificult, the only problem is very short time for the practical part.

If you do not have much experience with Asterisk, I would definitly recommend you talso take the dCAP class before you go on to the exam

In the pratical part, how much complex is the configuration required?
Is there any example?

Thanks and regards,
Davide

Hello.
As I remember, installing Asterisk from source (some time ago the rules have changed and the time for exam starts when you finished with the installation, so, you may download and compile DAHDI, libpri and Asterisk calmly) configuring SIP endpoint, configuring T1/E1 (don’t remember which one), configuring PSTN line, macros, AstDB, voicemail, queues. Maybe something else. If nothing have changed, there is not database integration tasks (neither *SQL nor ODBC) in dCAP exam.

You have 90 minutes for the practical part. Time flies.

Anyway consult the training centre where you are planning to take an exam.
