Hello,
I’m having trouble getting Asterisk 20.1 to run on Rocky Linux 9.
systemctl status asterisk
asterisk[4237]: /etc/rc.d/init.d/asterisk: line 42: /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions: No such file or directory
Looks like this file is not being created during install.
Is there a workaround or should I use different os than Rocky?
Thanks!

It’s part of the OS, not Asterisk, but I believe Rocky uses systemd, not init.
I don’t believe it is officially supported yet, but you are probably going to have to customise the startup scripts or install a legacy OS package.
