Asterisk 1.8.2 - modules more than 1 min to load

I have installed Asterisk 1.8.2 and having the following problem.

When asterisk loads, more than 1 minute elapses before the modules are loaded (I am selectively loading around 146modules from modules.conf). During this interval, commands such as “sip show peers” are not avaible. Asterisk is ready only after like 1 minute.

Same problem occurs when you do a “core restart now”

any idea what might be the problem??

My guess would be a DNS problem that is resulting in a timeout, probably whilst trying to work out the domain name of the machine. Turn up the verbosity to work out on which module(s) it is stalling.
