7970 won't register

I’m sure this has been a problem a million times, and I’ve been through the posts on here, but I can’t find any solutions that fix my problem.

The phone boots, connects to TFTP and downloads the config just fine, it just never registers.

I can use same sip login fine from X-lite

I turned SIP Debug on, and you the output can be seen here pastebin.ca/1952241

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’ve wasted days on this now.

Asterisk is asking the Cisco to send a user and password. The Cisco appears not to be seeing that response, or is still not providing the user and password.

Did this ever get fixed?

I have a similar problem - new Asterisk install, 7970’s won’t register.

Latest SIP software in the phones - 70.9-1-1

I am new to Asterisk - I’ve managed to get the phones upgraded, but they just won’t register. I’ve followed the 7970 Asterisk video tutorial and obeyed - but no joy.

This is now fixed for us.

I got an Asterisk guru in to properly define the extensions in Asterisk.

We also found that 9.1.1 firmware for 7970 won’t work for Asterisk - we went back to 8.5.4.

Phones now register reliably. Thanks to all.
