What codec Should I use?

HI

I have 1mbps link and was wondering what codec shall I use to give me good quality voice.

Bearing in mind 20 sumultanious calls gonna be made. I was thinking of gsm or speex. Not G729 at this stage as its proprientory. Want to try others for now.

If speex what settings in codecs.conf for 20 quality calls

I will love to get this answers and will be really thankful

I have never used speex so I cant say for sure but it seems to not use as much bandwith as ULAW. I would test and see what happens. Remember the usual rule of thumb is: The less bandwith a codec uses usually means the more it is compressed which means more CPU intensive.
