Voicemail language problem

Hello all,

I have a problem with the voicemail language in my asterisk 1.2.22 installation. I have configured it to spanish language setting it on sip.conf, iax.conf and zaptel.conf. My asterisk has a trunk with a Cisco gateway to interconnect to the PSTN.

Making call amongs asterisk extensions the voice prompts of voicemail are right played in spanish, but if the call comes from the PSTN (delivered by the gateway to asterisk) and is not answered, it is sent to the voicemail. In this case, the voice prompts are played in english instead of spanish. I have checked the log and “consciously” asterisk is playing them in english, despite of the spanish configuration.

Does anybody knows what is happening and how to solve it?

I don’t know why it is happening, you can try set the language to spanish in the first priority of the extension for the incoming calls with ${LANGUAGE()} function, I had this problem too in the past and this solved it.
