User's Password Issue in Asterisk

Hello All,

I am using Asterisk-1.4.18 on Centos operating system but when I define user in sip.conf with numeric secret (Password) then authentication goes fine but when I use text based or alphanumeric password then authentication of user is denied.

But why do you want to use alphanumerics for passwords?

what error msg your getting on the asterisk console…
