Symbian, J2ME,.. and asterisk

Hallo!

I have decided to install Asterisk on Linux box and it works OK with softphones on PCs.

Then I’ve come to idea, that it would be very usefull to have access to my PBX from my mobile phone(Nokia 6630), but unfortunatly I failed to find any suitable applicataion(neither for symbian, neither for j2me). Is there any at all?

I’ve read on the internet, that Nokia’s PTT(push to talk) is actualy a SIP client, but somehow this client fails to register with error message:

I believe this is an authentication failure. Has anyone found the solution to this yet?

Thanks for helping me out ,

same prob here :frowning:

Not sure, but I remember that Nokya PTT uses the AMR codec that is not supported by asterisk;

C.

yes… it’s AMR (my phone send: AMR/8000)

what’s the difference between amr & g729 ??
because asterisk can support g729…
mirror.isp.net.au/ftp/pub/asteri … risk/g729/

and btw… AMR codecs are available for free … but win32 only
voiceage.com/freecodecs.php
and we can use it from linux with Wine…

but i don’t think the prob is AMR codec…
i found the prob with the “Registration failed”…
now i see:
REGISTER
100 TRYING
401 UNAUTHORISED

it’s not username/password…
because with bad user/pass… i get Registration for “username” failed for “IP” - username/auth failed …

idea ?
