[Solved]: 20 SIP phones all become UNREACHABLE

I guess that hadn’t occurred to me because there are no other discernible problems with the server when the phones go unreachable. I can still do everything else just fine, it’s just that I can’t use my desk phones.

I have run into weird behavior due to power supply problems, but this doesn’t seem like one of em to me. I’ll give it a shot though, and maybe up the power supply’s wattage. I haven’t had it happen again since my last post, and we have had several power flickers on a couple days since then.

But outside of a power issue, I haven’t been able to think of a single reason why this would happen.

Thanks for the idea mag!

The solution to this appears to be to update to 1.4 - after doing that, I have not had a phone go unreachable.

Hi, I think things may be the SIP phones’ SIP compatibility problem, maybe re-register SIP signal is not match SIP RFC3261. so that Asterisk can not accept the re-register of that SIP phones.

Koncept:

That would make sense if the phones didn’t successfully re-register many many multiple times before they went unreachable.

I still think it was something in 1.2 that has changed in 1.4 - 1.4 still has not given me that issue.

OK, I have really figured it out this time - it was a buggy ethernet driver that was causing the deregistration. Just so you know, it was the sky2 driver - updating the server to ubuntu gutsy corrected the problem.
