Problem with DTMF

 (When I worked for an ‘adult’ chat line this would have meant something entirely different.)

Start your own cell company?

Cell phones transmit DTMF as data, and it is possible that the phone itself is restricted in how fast it can present the digits to the network.

GSM codecs aren’t suitable for simple tone combinations, so the DTMF cannot be transmitted in band.

It looks like each digit has to be explicitly acknowledged over the air interface, and the time division multiplexing of basic GSM would mean that it takes non-trivial time to get each digit out,

So, this is problem with mobile operator than my Asterisk box ?

It’s probably a problem with the specification of the mobile network’s underlying technology, and probably applies to all mobile networks of that general type, regardless of operator.
