Using the general Asterisk release, is it possible for a user to listen to the original messages that a caller has left and then rerecorded over or edited (ie. “press 3 to rerecord”). I work at a university which I believe uses the standard Asterisk source and I often rerecord or edit my messages when I leave voice mails for my colleagues. It would be very embarrassing if I knew that people were able to listen to the different versions of the same message that I left them. At the same time, if this option exists, I would like to know how to access it.
Asterisk re-records the original file that you recorded. The only way some one can listen to the original message is if some one is on the server grabbing the file or if they record the calls.
