Hi,
I just have installed *Now according to the instructions. Now in almost all installation notes it is mentioned that a screen appears after reeboting the system after installation which shows a URL to connect to * GUI. Now the problem is that no such screen is appearing after install and reboot. I have installed *Now thrice but i cannot get the URL to connect to the GUI. I am new to linux also and don’t know anything. Please help.
Not sure if you got your answer, but if you point your browser (from a different machine) to the IP address of your asterisk server, it should automatically take you to the login screen
I am having the same problem, and I’m also new to Linux. When I finish the installation, it asks me to remove the media and reboot. After the reboot, the server starts and stops at asking for login… the asteriskNOW console never loads.
I retrieved the IP address by using ip addr. When I connect to that IP using a web browser on another computer I get a FreePBX portal giving me the following options but none work with the root login…
Voicemail & Recordings (ARI)
Flash Operator Panel (FOP)
FreePBX Administration
What am I missing? Oh, and I’m using this download: AsteriskNOW-1.5.0-i386-1of1.iso
Thank you!
You may want to try installing GUI 2
http://www.asterisknow.org/install-related
Once you complete the installation, when you browse to the IP, you should be re-directed to the asterisk now web gui
Let me know if that works for you. I’ve done this numerous times… successfully
I’ll work on this. But in the mean time… I thought that the point of AsteriskNOW was that I wouldn’t have to deal with this kind of stuff.
Thanks!
In my limited experience, the original gui has never been good, which is why I use GUI 2. Once you install GUI 2, you still have a fully functional askeriskNOW, but with an updated GUI.
I still have one issue with GUI 2, so when you get it installed, let me know if the “Create New Voicemenu” option actually works from the
"Voice Menu" menu. Mine does not work, and I have an open request for that.
