we are using meetme for conferencing if set with r option (recording ) it becomes very bad
if the the r flag is not set it works like a charm
any direction would be appreciated

Just out of curiosity, have you tried using ConfBridge instead of MeetMe?
you are correct confbridge will handle the call much better
but do to major development already done starting back when confbridge was missing a lot of features we are still stuck in meetme with a goal to change but now with korona iam trying to find a solution with what i have !
