I’m planning to build 800+ user IP PABX. I will get premium support but now I need help determining the hardware. Please help.

That is a sizable requirment.

Planning Hardware for asterisk you need to answer the following questions: This will help you determine the CPU, memory and bandwith overhead.

  1. How many concurrent calls… Whats the application? A large office or call centre?
  2. How is your PBX connected to the outside world. Voip or Physical lines coming into your office?
  3. Feature Requirments, IVR etc.
  4. Phone models you intend to use.

Can you download some stasticics from your current system for number one? I.e. over a month, will give you a good idea as to what peak capacity you need.
