Incoming Phone Call Problems

I have Asterisk@Home 1.2 with 2 clone FXO single port PCI cards.

After quite a bit of messing around I finally figured out how to get ZAP channels working outbound and can place calls to the world (yea!).

I cannot, however, get my lines to pick up when the line is ringing so they can go to the automated attendant.

I’ve looked for this answer quite a bit and have not found a difinitive (nor working) answer. The best case I have found is to modify the phones.conf file, which makes sense, but I don’t know how to figure out what device to point it to (/dev/???). Is there an easy way I can find that info, or am I on the wrong track and don’t need that in the first place?

Thanks so much!

Craig

it is usually extensions.conf that will tell the x100p/ZAP to answer. If you are able to make outbound calls, then you are communicating with the card.
I suggest you check the default context in extensions.conf for the s extension lines.
Post them here or the default context so we can see.

This is pretty big, it’s the default file. I did notice that the 7777 is defined to run the from-pstn, but even that does not work - probably the first clue!

Thank you!

Here is the from-pstn-timecheck that is an include to that file:

exten => _.,1,Goto(s,1) ; catch-all matching for calls that have DID info (if a DID route hasn't matched them)

exten => s,3,GotoIfTime(${REGTIME}|${REGDAYS}|*|*?from-pstn-reghours,s,1:)
exten => s,4,Goto(from-pstn-afthours,s,1)

And since I’m forcing regular hours for now:

[from-pstn-reghours]
exten => s,1,GotoIf($[${FAX_RX} = disabled]?from-pstn-reghours-nofax,s,1:2)	; if fax detection is disabled, then jump to from-pstn-nofax - else continue

exten => s,15,Goto(${INCOMING},s,1) 			; not EXT or GR1 - it's an auto attendant
exten => fax,1,Goto(ext-fax,in_fax,1)
exten => h,1,Hangup

Now, 7777 works after I changed the incoming routing to not use system defaults on ‘/’ any call. So, it would seem the extensions.conf is correct and that the problem lies in the system not being able to send an ‘answer call’ to the card. I can look at the panel and it shows ringing, so the system detects the ring, just don’t know what else is not happening to answer it.

And, oddly enough, the system is not seeing caller ID on incoming calls (via the panel). I have the service and it works with my PBX but for some reason Asterisk does not…

ok, you’re using A@H … what do you have set for the destination on your “Incoming Calls” page ?

regular hours: 7:55-17:05            days: mon-fri

Digital Receptionist: Main (have also tried an extension to no avail - main does work when tested with 7777)

after hours

Digital Receptionist: Main

Override Call Settings
No Override (obey the above settings)

Of course I have usurped this in order to get just 7777 to work by changing the INCOMING ROUTING option to not use these settings but to just send to Digital Receptionist: Main. It is the only time that I have been able to listen to the main menu.

Any ideas on this?

Surely someone has an idea on this, any help is appreciated.

Bump…
