Ok here is a challenge, but many not for some. I have been up many nights trying to debug my problem.
I have a colocated server that I have asterisk on. To be percise it is a
Asterisk 1.0.9 built by root@xxxxxx.xxxxx.net on a macppc running NetBSD. It has been working butefully not for a log time excelt for the ocational tiem when it woudl go and hog up all of the processing power.
So I wan to move my asterisk box to my home so I can do two things. One would be to upgrade to a never version of asterisk that can do a bunch of things that I need like only connecting calls when I press a certain digit. So the other night apt-get installed Subversion on my Debian box.
Linux xxxxxxx 2.6.8-2-686 #1 Tue Aug 16 13:22:48 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux
I installed asterisk version
Asterisk SVN-branch-1.2-r7709M built by root @ xxxxxx on a i686 running Linux
The weird thing is that it seams like like the asterisk version on my Debian box 1.2 is not sending out any UDP packets on port 4569. To verify this I installed tcpdump on both boxes and ran ‘tcpdump -v udp port 4569’ and I recived output on the netbsd box, nut no output on the netbsd machine when I would restart asterisk.
Both boxes have very similar iax.conf so having the config correct should not be a problem. When I do iax2 show peers it showes me all the hosts that I have configured.
Is this a bug in the version that I trited to install? What is going on. You will defently impress me if you can figure this one out. I hope I covered everything, if not let me know.
