How would you debug this problem?

Hello all !

I have a nasty problem, local sip devices connect well with my asterisk box. But sip providers outside won’t register. I get this error :

   > doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'SipGate01'

[May 27 04:33:19] WARNING[2431]: acl.c:376 ast_get_ip_or_srv: Unable to lookup ‘SipGate01’

What would you start in order to break down the problem ? For your info : the asterisk box connects well to the internet and pings the providers’ server.

PS Asterisk 1.6.1.0, ubuntu server 9.4

ok, solved it. I don’t know exactly what was the problem, but I played arround with the sip.conf file and the registration worked out finally.
