How to change Packet Size in Asterisk?

Hello,

I would like to adjust my packet size within Asterisk from 20ms to 40ms. Is there any way I can do this? The reason for this is to be able to handle more SIP Channels and to reduce the packets Per Second usage on my router. Since the SIP protocol allows us to modify the ms packet size, why not allow us to modify it in Asterisk?

In Asterisk 1.4, you can modify the packet sizes for RTP on a per-codec basis. See sip.conf.sample for details on the syntax by searching for the “allow=” lines.
